Classic Boat Race Series
July 22 and August 19, 2016
The Boothbay Harbor Yacht Club (BHYC) will host the Classic Boat Race in a two-part series on Friday, July 22 and Friday, August 19, 2015. The race will be informal, and is intended for traditional, full-keel sailboat designs (whether old or new) and heavy cruising boats more than 25 years old. The event is open to both non-members and members of BHYC for all activities. Skippers who do not ordinarily participate in racing activities are especially encouraged to join the fun.
Racing is free and open to all sailors in the community. There may be three classes, depending on the number of entrants: boats under 30 feet; boats 30 feet and longer; Boothbay Harbor One Designs.
Activities start at the BHYC Clubhouse at 156 Western Ave, West Boothbay Harbor.
After racing, everyone is invited back to the Clubhouse for a reception and announcement of the racing results.
Trophies for the race will be awarded at the annual BHYC Awards Dinner. All racers are welcome to attend and buffet dinner reservations can be made by calling the Club at 633-5750.
Classic Race sailors may also be interested in the Commodore's Cup series. The Commodore's Cup series is held over two days during the course of the season. These races are also open to all.
